LAZIO DIRECTOR COMMENDED FOR KNOCKDOWN

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has received praise for his quality in the transfer market. This is according to the report fromItalian media outlet The Liziali. Tare was in the spotlight again after the impressive transfer for Luka Romero.

Romero, 16, is one of the best young players in European football and he was snapped up by Tare and Lazio from Real Mallorca last week with the club paying just a small fee for him. The teenager is connected to Argentina thereby leading to comparison to the great Lionel Messi since they both have similar physique.

Lazio will be required to pay a training fee to Spanish team Real Mallorca for Romero.
Tare and Lazio have a track of record of bargain buys who went on to become an important player in the first team and Romero would be hoping to take this path too. Tare was the mastermind for deals involving players such as Lucas Leiva, Francesco Acerbi, Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto.

Lazio paid a knockdown fee to sign Lucas Leiva from Liverpool in the summer of 2017 and he went on to become an integral part of the team's midfield department. Brazilian international Lucas Leiva had to leave Merseyside giants Liverpool four years ago in search of regular first team football and he has been able to find a home in the Italian capital.

Lucas Leiva thrived under manager Simone Inzaghi over the past years and he will have to prove himself all over again with new manager Maurizio Sarri. Sarri has been appointed the new Lazio boss on a two-year deal and as a replacement for Inzaghi who left the club to sign for Italian Serie A champions Inter Milan. Inzaghi has a big task ahead of him as Inter Milan target winning the league for the second time in a row at the start of his tenure at the club.
