LUCAS FEATURES IN BIG CAGLIARI WIN

Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leivafeatured for Lazio as they ended their run of two league games without victory thanks to the 3-0 away win over Cagliari. Lucas Leiva was on for the entire game as goals from Ciro Immobile, Luis Alberto and Felipe Anderson gave capital club Lazio a morale-boosting win in their quest to secure European football at the end of the season.


Lucas Leiva has been a regular in the Lazio team this season irrespective of the competition and it was not a surprise when the experienced Brazil international was named in the starting line-up for the Italian Serie A game at Cagliari. Ahead of the game, Lazio had a very good record against Cagliari as they were unbeaten in their last 15 league games. They were able to extend the run to 16 games with the emphatic win. Lazio hold the record for the longest unbeaten against an opponent at the moment in the Italian Serie A as a result of their impressive record against Cagliari as revealed above.

Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto doubled the lead for Lazio just before the break. Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson wrapped up the win with a third goal in the second half. Lazio ended the game with ten men after Adam Marusic was sent off with two minutes left for two yellow cards.
