Inter Milan Keen to Sign Liverpool Midfielder Lucas

Inter Milan are understood to be keen on making a move for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva, who was earlier subjected to transfer interest back in the summer.

Lucas revealed a few weeks ago that it was Liverpool who prevented the move, as they felt that a transfer would have severely weakened the team in the midfield. It has proven to be the case, as Lucas has not been without first-team opportunities. He has started three Premier league games, but the Brazilian midfielder would be right to expect that he will be getting even more first-team action at a club like Inter Milan.

Lucas Claims Liverpool Can Win the EFL Cup This Season

Lucas Leiva is backing Liverpool to go all the way with regard to the League Cup this season.

After a 2-1 win over Tottenham in the EFL Cup, the Reds will be playing in the final stages of the competition. Jurgen Klopp managed to get the club into the finals of last season, only to be beaten by Manchester City in what turned out to be Manuel Pellegrini’s final season at the club. It was a major disappointment for Klopp as he failed to win a trophy in his first season. It would have given the players a major boost, but it seems that the German has not been in need of it.

Leiva is aiming to win the English Football League Cup

The 29 year old Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva is hoping and aiming to lift the English Football League Cup with Liverpool especially after having defeated Tottenham Hotspur which was one of their biggest and tougher opponents of the entire competition.

"Last year we came very close, but we don't have any European games this year and hopefully we can win all three competitions. It was very good experience for the young players, and they will develop. I think the manager showed the trust that he has in the squad and I think it was the right decision." Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva said as he voiced his desire to win the EFL Cup in this season.

Lucas: Liverpool Blocked My Exit in the Summer

Lucas Leiva is no longer a first-team regular at Liverpool and he was subjected to major transfer rumours back in the summer.

The midfielder has opened up on the events leading up to his stay at Anfield. He says that Liverpool did not allow him to leave in the summer, and that he has grown to accept the decision. Lucas has featured in a couple of matches of late, but he is widely expected to leave either in January or in the upcoming summer transfer window provided Liverpool find a replacement. Signed by Rafa Benitez, it is a major surprise that Lucas has managed to stay at Anfield for such a long period given his struggles early on in his Liverpool career.

Lucas Leiva appeared to be very close to securing a move to Galatasaray.

The Turkish club are looking for a major revamp in almost all areas of the pitch and Lucas seemed to fit the club’s requirements perfectly. However, Galatasaray were unable to agree terms withLiverpool after holding unofficial discussions for several days. It is understood thatLucas was also very keen on making the move a reality. He felt that he was not part of the Jurgen Klopp revolution at Anfield. Originally brought to Anfield by Rafa Benitez,Lucas has already witnessed several managers like Roy Hodgson, Brendan Rodgers, and Kenny Dalglish.
