Inter Milan Keen to Sign Liverpool Midfielder Lucas

Inter Milan are understood to be keen on making a move for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva, who was earlier subjected to transfer interest back in the summer.


Lucas revealed a few weeks ago that it was Liverpool who prevented the move, as they felt that a transfer would have severely weakened the team in the midfield. It has proven to be the case, as Lucas has not been without first-team opportunities. He has started three Premier league games, but the Brazilian midfielder would be right to expect that he will be getting even more first-team action at a club like Inter Milan.

Lucas Leiva is backing Liverpool to go all the way with regard to the League Cup this season.


After a 2-1 win over Tottenham in the EFL Cup, the Reds will be playing in the final stages of the competition. Jurgen Klopp managed to get the club into the finals of last season, only to be beaten by Manchester City in what turned out to be Manuel Pellegrini’s final season at the club. It was a major disappointment for Klopp as he failed to win a trophy in his first season. It would have given the players a major boost, but it seems that the German has not been in need of it.

The 29 year old Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva is hoping and aiming to lift the English Football League Cup with Liverpool especially after having defeated Tottenham Hotspur which was one of their biggest and tougher opponents of the entire competition.

"Last year we came very close, but we don't have any European games this year and hopefully we can win all three competitions. It was very good experience for the young players, and they will develop. I think the manager showed the trust that he has in the squad and I think it was the right decision." Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva said as he voiced his desire to win the EFL Cup in this season.

Long term player at Liverpool Lucas Leiva is set to join Turkish giants Besiktas, according to reports from Turkish publications Fanatik.


The report claims that both clubs have been in talks to for the transfer to move ahead and the meetings have been fruitful. Besiktas made the enquires for the player at first and coach Jurgen Klopp, who is keen on making a lot of changes at the team following the limitations of his debut season charge, acceded to the request that the player be sold.
