Ronaldinho’s career took another turn for the worse

Ronaldinho’s career took another turn for the worse after Fluminense announced that he would be leaving the club just three months after joining the club.

The decision appears to have been a mutual one with Ronaldinho being booed by his own supporters for his poor performances. The former Barcelona superstar joined the club and made only nine appearances. However, he could not create or score any goals during this period. Even though she had a one-year contract still left to run, Fluminense have decided to part company with the 35-year-old.

Ronaldinho has struggled to make any impact in football over the last five years and it remains to be seen if he will have any takers going forward. It is also noteworthy that the forward had left Mexican club Querétaro just a few months after joining. He was blamed for unprofessional attitude. Ronaldinho will be remembered as one of the greatest players – at least in terms of pure talent – to grace the game. He terrorised opposition for a couple of years at Barcelona. His spell with the Catalan club is regarded as the best ever even though it was for a very short span. He has never been able to recover those glory days.

“Fluminense hereby announces the end of the contract with Ronaldinho amicably and in mutual agreement between the parties. Fluminense and Ronaldinho retain close ties and plan to work on other projects in the future. It should be noted that the player’s hiring met all expectations with regarding to marketing returns, increasing ticket and shirt sales for the club as well as attracting a number of partners. Ronaldinho’s recruitment also showed that Fluminense are capable of attracting the greatest players in world football,” said a statement on Fluminense’s website. There have been suggestions that Ronaldinho may retire from football.
