Lucas Leiva not regretting switch to Lazio
Lucas Leiva does not regret his decision of leaving Liverpool to join the Italian club Lazio. He says that he has not been happy at the club which he has been a part for nearly a decade. He has played 346 games for the club as a defender and, in 2017, he transferred to Lazio when an opportunity opened up for him. He has also been the part of Brazil National Team where he had made 24 appearances.
Leiva is not disturbed of Liverpool’s winning streak and is quite happy for them. He told Liverpool’s official website: “The year after I left, we lost in the [Champions League] final. I met the boys here in Rome [for the 2018 semi-final]. But, of course, [to win it] I was really happy, to be honest. My son, my family, we are Liverpool fans now.”
The Brazilian footballer is happy for their win and says that he has been in contact with many of the players. People might think that he regrets the decision on leaving the club but he wasn’t happy there. It's better this way with Liverpool winning and him playing happily. He is a fan of the club who is enjoying their victory.
The 33-year-old moved out of Liverpool when he saw his game time was reduced by Klopp. But he says that he has maintained a good relationship with Liverpool's manager. He has learnt a lot from him and has been supportive of his move to Lazio. Klopp has treated him with respect and they are still in contact with each other maintaining a good friendship.
