LUCAS LEIVA RANKED THE 14TH BEST BRAZILIAN PLAYER IN PREMIER LEAGUE HISTORY
While Lucas Leiva may not immediately strike to mind as a world-class player, there is no doing in the fact that he was always a great player on his day. Leiva was a very important player for Liverpool and cemented himself in the starting XI after initially being signed to play a bit-part role in the squad. His performances did not go unnoticed and he has now been recognized as the 14h best Brazilian player to play in England's topflight.
Leiva was the holder of the record of the Brazilian player with the most appearances in Premier League history but his record has now been broken as Arsenal winger Willian is now the Brazilian player with the most appearances. Willian joined Arsenal from Chelsea last summer and did so by rejecting several offers he had from clubs across Europe in a bid to remain in England.
He may have well now ticked one of the boxes he created when he was deciding that he would be remaining in England. Willian now has over 248 appearances, the same number he needed to break the record and has declared that he is willing to play many more games for Arsenal before he finally decides to hang his boots.
The former Brazilian winger broke the record in Arsenal's comfortable 3-0 win back in January and has declared that he is very happy to now be known as the Brazilian player with the highest number of appearances in the division's history.
